Winning bidder wants to cancel. is this against Ebay rules

It is not against the rules for buyers asking to cancel a transaction, but private sellers do not have to accept it.

If you do decline the request don’t be too surprised if the buyer finds a fault with the item when they receive it though, forcing you to pay to get the item back.

Has the buyer sent you a formal Cancellation Request?

If so, is probably best to accept the request.
