Yahoo search engine malware

Since using EBay my DuckDuckGo search engine has been replaced by one purporting to be from Yahoo, and when I search, say, Dailymailonline, it comes up with the USA pages instead of the UK ones. I have searched how to remove this "search engine" on You Tube etc. and none of the many instructions works. I am concerned that my "keystrokes" may be being monitored. Has anyone else suffered this problem since using EBay?

Can't see it has anything to do with ebay.

Have you updated or added any new programmes lately?

Go to your browser settings & you can select which search engine to set as default.

Maybe it wasn’t Ebay, but I’d been to few other sites.
I go to my web browser and the default is Safari, but it has been hi-jacked by Yahoo.
I have an appointment with Apple Support so, hopefully, they will be able to fix it.
