Thank you very much for the information. Out of interest should I give them the opportunity to explain the discrepancy before doing this. Although it seems pretty clear that the address doesn't exist if it cant be found in google maps

I am new to selling on eBay and have recently sold 2 items to the same person. Their profile page says they are based in Algeria but their shipping address is in China. I have done a google map search of the address and it doesnt seem to exist. We have had a lot of discussions about shipping and they were trying to insist i sent without compensation. I refused and they relented. They are now saying they are bidding on more of my items. Not sure how to proceed. Any help very gratefully received.

You can cancel transactions. Go to actions, right of the item on your sold list > Cancel order > Something wrong with buyer's address.

And put their ID on your blocked bidder list:

http://offer.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?BidderBlockLogin

If they've already bid on your other items you can cancel the bids here:

The more expensive the items the more likely it's a scam, in which case I wouldn't bother contacting them. If the items are cheapish it's unlikely to be a scam but still sounds like a hassle. It's up to you if you want to try and sort it out.

I have in fact cancelled. I may not be very experienced on eBay but I do have a scam radar. He hasn't bid on anything else so have blocked as well. Thanks very much again
