Does anybody know a phone number for ebay where you can actually speak to a person. All this virtual chat does not seem to be getting to the root of problems and is infuriating.

There isn't one. You could just ask on here, someone will help you. Or try the Help Pages.

If a Problem with your Account scroll down to Contact Us. Select a Topic. On the next page, left hand side you should see a link to Chat With Us.

Tried the contact us page but it doesn't really help. Sent me to Expert page.

ebay don't give out their phone number,

you have to use the Help & Contact link and drill down through the options until you reach the contact us link,

or you could tell us your problem and we will try to help you.
