adding to the advice already given -

the seller probably noted the very large number of retractions on your profile and has decided it would be better to follow the unpaid route.

Hi, first time on here. I put an offer in for an item and I didn't look at the postage. The offer was accepted and then I realised it was collection only. I've tried to message the seller several times to see if he'll accept my request to cancel or to post the item. He's not replying to any messages. What else can I do?

They dont have to cancel and if you dont pay they can do a non payment cancellation after a full 4 days

You would get a strike on your account

Once will not harm too much but two or more would stop you from buying off many sellers.

They dont have to post. In most cases sellers choose collection as the item is too big, heavy or difficult to pack.

If they had had postage on it then they may have received more for their item

I totally agree with you. I think I'm just going to have to pay. Thanks.

I would not pay. Unless it was a very cheap item. One strike will not harm your account so if you dont have any others just dont pay. Not good for you or for the seller but better than paying and losing your money.

Go to your 'feedback profile' and click on 'received as buyer' and to the right is 'Bid retractions (last 12 months).

I have just looked at the retractions. Do you realise every time you retract a bid then you wreck that sellers listing. You need to read the listings properly and only bid if you are sure you want the item.
