Ebay payment system??

I have decided after nearly 20 years, the last years of total mistrust of the secrecy and obstructive methods of ebay that I will NO WAY sign up fo their "in house" payment system, I will NO WAY give ebay ANY details of any of my bank accounts mainly because I DO NOT TRUST EBAY!! apart from all the increases and DEVIOUS and anti buyer and seller behaviour. However, my question is: Should I be prevented from selling small personal items on ebay, will I still be able to BUY from commercial sellers on ebay? (which I do quite alot for things that are now IMPOSSIBLE to source in retail shops, i.e. sewing supplies and computer/phone cables, SD cards etc., thanks.

You will be able to buy but not to sell if you do not sign up to the managed payments

You gave your details to paypal so what is the difference

Many of us are already on the managed payments and it seems to be working fairly well

You could always have a seperate bank card for ebay which is what I do and always have for online sales/purchases

Thats fine then, I dont TRUST ebay with ANY of my bank details AND the new system is TOTALLY EVEN MORE RIGGED AGAINST A SELLER!!! I will not give a pre arranged postage cost when it is IMPOSSIBLE to give a postage price for an item before it is even sold, It is LUDICROUS now on ebay for a private seller, I have just sold a bakelite telephone where i had to increase my start price by a massive 30% to cover no more £1 final value fees, such a brittle item has to be carefully packed and weighed and then priced for insured postage, NO WAY can you give a postage price BEFORE IT EVEN SOLD!! No!!! Ive had it with ebay really I am MILLIONS of other DO NO TRUST EBAY ANYMORE!! but I will still be able to buy things from commercial sellers so that is just fine, I dont mind not selling on ebay now that it is a NIGHTMARE!!

Your opinion is fine if that is what you think but you wont be able to sell. I dont see why you cant give a postage price. The £1 listings were an extra and ebay does not have to give us anything yet we get the 1000 free listings. It is no use shouting at us. We are not ebay and many of us sell so know all the ins and outs of selling on ebay. It is your choice. Sign up or dont sell

Im not shouting at anyone, I know its not your personal fault that ebay have been obstructing and making the most FATUOUS ANTI SELLER rules for private sellers to jump through hoops with over the last three years (at least) - dont take my word for it look at the MILLIONS of people who once thought ebay was a FANTASTIC platform for buying and selling, I have furnished TWO houses and sold very well for the first 15 years but now it has become something akin to planning a trip to Mars in order to simply sell a simple 2nd hand item, No, ebay have really messed this up, and its their own fault, EVERY SINGLE person I have sold a minor item to or bought a private sale 2nd hand item EVERY SINGLE PERSON tells me how they now DESPISE what ebay has become, its like all these "once wonderful" inititiatives like Budget airlines to utility companies, Started off WONDERFUL!! but have been INVADED with "Graduates" from tuppence ha'penny "univerisites" and conned the company into accepting these ANTI SELLER plaform "rules" and downright tricks!!!! They ALL turn into the MOST HORRRIBLE, GRASPING, ROBBING, DEVIOUS, UNTRUSTWORTHY ENTITIES, Budget airlines are the prime example, I am a "tri-national" and I used to fly THREE TIMES A MONTH with the most AMAZING hand baggage (free of charge) with the most IMMENSELY HEAVY ITEMS LIKE INDUSTRIAL SEWING MACHINES so long as they fit inside the 56x25x45 cabin trolley, but NOW, they have SCREWED the passenger insofar as you can ONLY take this huge cabin trolley onto the aircraft if you buy THE MOST EXPENSIVE SEAT!!! heen & weer, (there and back!!!) so that adds another £50 AT LEAST to your ticket price!! No, Ive had enough of ebay now, I have seen all the HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of complaints that the funds from a buyer are NOT IMMEDIATELY VISIBLE in your account for from 3-7 days depending on if a buyer pays on a bank holiday weekend as ebays payment system only operates on mon to friday WORKING DAYS!! I would NEVER send my item until I see the cash in my account, No, this has not been thought through, its SHABBY, ANTI SELLER, HAS NO TRANSPARENCY AND I, AND MILLIONS OF OTHERS DO NOT TRUST EBAY!!! simple!! Klaar, Finis, Period. Full Stop, but I can buy things so that is fine. I can always sell small household items that are now NOT WORTH THE TROUBLE LET ALONE HAVING NO TRUST IN EBAY'S "IN HOUSE" PAYMENT SYSTEM, IN LISTING A SMALL ITEM - I think, despite YOUR trumpetting how wonderful it all is does not tally with what millions of disgruntled and distrusting small private sellers for the last 20 years on ebay are telling me. I have had enough!! Ebay was once WONDEFUL but now it is a MONSTER that is AGAINST sellers and is TOTALLY UNACCOUNTABLE!!

SORRY, THATS THE TRUTH!! SO GOOD RIDDANCE!! But I can still buy from a commercial chinese seller on ebay and pay wtih paypal (or a UK commercial seller) so there is a huge dicrepancy here, I rather think that the "Rationale" now is to make Ebay a commercial selling site ONLY and get rid of all the "small fry" private sellers - the ones that made Ebay grow for 15 or 20 years and now they are pushing them all aside, well, its serviced its purpose for me so I am not too bothered. There will be alternatives, Ive done relatively well on Gumtree already, and am "trialing" facebook Marketplace. Thanks

The Diffrence is that the SHEER GREED AND LACK OF SECURITY of Ebay means that I DO NOT TRUST EBAY with any bank details of mine!! Paypal is an INTERNATIONALLY SECURE BANKING PLATFORM, Ebay is NOT and it will not invest in the correct online protection for their shabby payments platform, plus the fact that ebay are making FATUOUS conditions that are TOTALLY AGAINST PRIVATE SELLERS!! I DO NOT TRUST EBAY - OR LIKE OR APPROVE OF THEIR SHADY UNDERHAND DEVIOUS MANAGEMENT!!! Simple, Klaar, punt uit, finis, period!!!
