it must have violated feedback policy, for example, you left a non-positive saying "Refund Issued as Item was held up in Customs - - " etc. that would be removed if the seller asked.

If yuo don't tell us what you said in feedback, how do you expect us to suggest why it was removed?

The most common reasons are that it mentions an eBay or PayPal case, or the police, or contains profanity. However, feedback can also be removed for other reasons, for example where a buyer demands something that wasn't part of the original transaction.
