Hi All Ebayers,

i was told by ebay that when it stopped being partnered with Paypal that it would be better for sellers, as we would not have to pay Paypal fees so we should get more of our money. Well that is not true... as Ebay has added the paypal fees to their own fees, charging sellers 30p an item to put sellers money into their bank account.

Also they have increased ebay selling fees. I sold an item for £4 and got charged £1 selling fees.

Ebay also charge selling fees on the postge too, so that may explain things for you.

It does seem as though ebay have hiked their fees up but I am assured that they still charge 10% and that the other 2.8% goes to Adyen who administer your money.

The 30p is exactly the same as the 30p that Paypal used to charge admin. It kind of makes sense.

If you sell an item for total of £4.00.

Old system, paypal fee 2.9% + 30p = 42p. Ebay 10% = 40p. Total 82p

New system, no paypal. Ebay fee 12.8% + 30p = 81p.

So 1p better off.

But ebay said that sellers would financially be better off as we will not incur PayPal fees, but that's not true, as eBay has added more fees to sellers

You are better off, ebay charge 0.1% less than before, also they deduct fees before paying into your bank, so no more monthly invoice.
