I set the UK postage for a sale with extra to be added for each additional item. When I sold two of the item only the original postage amount was charged to the buyer without the extra. Ebay checked the listing and agreed that the buyer should have been charged more and said they would escalate the issue and get back to me. I haven't heard back from them.

I have been on a chat with them and they confirmed they had made a mistake but nothing has happened. They said they would get back to me but have heard nothing. I have ended the listing to avoid any further losses but my question is - can I expect an answer or is this the usual, they say they will get back to you but nothing happens. I have tried to contact them again but the chat option has disappeared.

What wrong Postage? If the Sale was outside the UK your Buyer would have been charged VAT.

Sorry but I don't understand the title of your post. Ebay don't set postage charges, it is the seller who does that, unless I have misunderstood you.

Ebey do tell you whatever they think you want to hear, and it's doubtful they will get back to you.
