Why has my feedback been deleted?

Hi all,

I left -ve feedback for a seller who sent an incorrect item (clearly packaged with another brand from what I had ordered) and would not accept responsibility.

Unfortunately I clicked 'item does not fit' (because it didn't - being the wrong part!), not realising that this meant I was liable for return postage. I closed my browser page when it started asking for money for postage, and now the 'Return' is marked as closed and no-one at eBay is willing to help.

Anyway, now the -ve feedback has gone! Any idea why? There was no bad language or defamatory statements - certainly nothing like some of the feedback I've seen, so I don't know why it's gone. This seems rather unfair to the rest of the community if genuine feedback warning others is removed.

You Closed the Returns Case so had no grounds to leave the Seller any Negative Feedback.

It would help if you said exactly what you said. You arenot supposed to refer to ebay or opening a case.

If you paid by Paypal you can open the NOT AS DESCRIBED CASE with them, BUT look at Offers as you may be able to get the return postage paid.

Hi ruby*tuesday - thanks for the reply. The thing is, I didn't close the Return. I closed my browser when it started asking me for money, and when I next logged in the Return was closed. It's a pretty inflexible system if no-one at eBay can help out. It seems obvious to me that where a seller sends the wrong item, then it should be possible to put it right. Lesson learned I suppose. It will be a l-o-n-g time before I order anything from a company on eBay again.

Hi, and thanks for replying. I did mention that eBay were not able to help me sort the problem out - that might be why they deleted it. Shame they don't ask the reviewer to re-write it. I had no notification from them. I did try the PayPal route but they denied the claim saying that the item was 'materially similar to the sellers' description'.... similar isn't good enough if your'e sent a part for a different make and model though! It's always the 'llittle guy' thath looses out, isn't it?! Ho hum - a lesson in trust learned!
