Thank you for your email
Are you able to forward me an email address for ebay?
Looking at "defenders" last week, one individual (alsm3574) has posted
several Defenders for sale but none of the pictures are Defenders...
instead they show pedal bikes, motor bikes, caravans & a BMWs.
This evening I have had to individually report 12 Defenders all of which
are fraudulent. I know this because I have seen the pictures over 100
times, in the last year, with different sellers all asking you to contact
an email address away from eBay.
Tonight's seller (mohemakk_0) 1993 items for sell. I suspect they are all
fraudulent, flooding ebay with false advertising to take advantage of
unspecting buyers. A perfect example why reporting a seller makes sense to
me.
Why can't ebay control this?
I feel it is ebay responsibility to ensure people selling on their website
a true & lawful. If they are unable to police this then maybe they don't
care or the problem is too big to manage (which, in my mind, is not an
excuse). Maybe eBay need to rethink their policies regarding the vetting of
sellers.
Thank you for your advice/assistance.
Kind regards
Steve

Hi, you can report an item but why not a seller. I have been looking on ebay for a defender for over a year and the amount of fraudulent sellers is frightening. There is an option to report an item but not the seller which most of the time would be a faster way of shutting down several fraudulent items in one go.

Cheers steve

As you say there are many fraudulent listings and sellers on ebay

All you can do it to report by the report link on the listing

Ebay does remove them but as fast as they do others appear

It is up to buyers to beware and to check out items properly

You realise they are fraudulent and so should other potential buyers.

you can report an item but why not a seller.

That's a very good question, and one that has often been asked before. But only eBay could answer it.

It's common for a seller to list multiple numbers of similar fraudulent items, but eBay requires each listing to be reported individually.

You could, of course, suggest this to eBay - except that eBay has "a long-standing policy of not accepting unsolicited suggestions, ideas, or proposals" from members.
