How on earth do I ask ebay if I can sell again? It's been around 8 years since I was banned for late delivery ratings. I never received any negative feedback. Is there somewhere I can email to ask? What are my chances?

eBay have two variants of restrictions they place on accounts.

One is a timed restriction , so you just need to wait for this time to lapse to use your account fully again.

A permanent / indefinite restriction means a lifetime ban, there is no comeback from this one.

Can you remember which restriction you received? Either way now, if you have not used your account for a long time it would still be blocked as many dormant accounts are used by hackers, so you need to contact eBay Customer Services and explain you are the correct account holder, trying to list items on their account.

They will either unlock your account for use, or tell you your account does have a permanent restriction.

Lines open today, in just under 2 hours.

Scroll to the very bottom of the page on the link below , and you will be able to access eBay Customer Services via a Live Chat , and sometimes there is a Call Back available.

Both options will give you an approximate waiting time, it is usually only a few minutes.

It was a lifetime ban. I still have access to my account, Im just not allowed to sell on it. I can buy. I asked a few times with no success years ago. Just seems harsh as it was so long ago and I never actually got any negative feedback. But ty for your reply.

Aaah then, I'm very sorry there is no return to selling on eBay after receiving a lifetime ban, you are allowed to buy only, some are not allowed even this function. The opening of a new account will not help, as it will immediately be linked to the old, and gain the same restriction. Sorry, in this case there is no point calling eBay Customer Services.

Adding to tressygirl good advice -

It's best to ensure that your facts correct before requesting advice and trying to get reinstatement, you say -

“ I never received any negative feedback”

But your first page of feedback received shows two negs.

Going into denial will only damage you, especially as one indicates they only got a refund after getting eBay involved.

Ah I actually didn't realise I had received negative feedback, I'm not in denial as you suggest. Just dumb and didn't remember as it was almost 10 years ago. I would say thank for the help but it seems you were only looking to belittle me.
