Pay after Delivery

I'm currently looking at an electric vehicle for sale. The suggestion is that I pay for it using PayPal Pay After Delivery. I've had an invitatation to join the PAD service but I've had to verify my bank details by sending a small amount. I'm just a bit concerned that it could be a scam as PayPal have already verified my bank. Has amyone got any experience of this please - before I transfer the big money. Thanks

There is no PayPal or ebay protection for vehicle purchases so payment by any method other than cash on collection after a thorough examination, is not advised.

If the seller is suggesting PAD with some promise of protection, it's a scam.

Thank you for this. The seller works off shore apparently, and so it was suggested that a delivery could be arranged with PAD. This, allegedly, would give me up to 7 days to examine the vehicle before accepting to buy. It seemed to good to be true and now I'm getting close to making the purchase I'm getting worried about the authenticity of the Pay After Delivery. I've had to pay £10 to a holding account and currently I'm waiting to be 'approved' as they will verify my account. Then, I'm going to be sent an invoice which, I'm assuming gets me to transfer the money into the holding account, gives the all clear for the delivery. It's quite an elaborate scam and one I feel should be highlighted. Pay after delivery is something we've noticed at the point of purchase for a lot of items these days and so on the face of it sounds feasible.

Beware ... With those PAD conditions, you are being set up !. ... Car does not exist and you will almost certainly be scammed !. You are not required to, nor should you pay with unsafe PayPal.

For information ... eBay do not hold deposits or offer a Trial period, Escrow or Delivery/Shipping service for a Vehicle which may not even exist ... Do not pay anything including a holding deposit until you have seen and examined the Vehicle personally.

Cash on inspection/collection is the safest and best payment method for vehicles ... or ... mutually agreed Bank Transfer after you have seen and examined the vehicle and agreed the purchase, the seller then releases the Vehicle and documents to you ...

No PayPal payments including holding deposits should be made as there is absolutely No Buyer payment protection offered for Collection items/Vehicles.

Definitely a SCAM ... Cut your £10.00 loss and do not continue with this blatant SCAM !!.
