Question Re: Dodgy pricing... in Member To Member Support DO NOT DELETE

All you can do is report it, bait-and-switch is so prevalent and multi-price listings are so abused I'm surprised ebay still allow them but you'll find complaints like this in the community going back years. Nobody looking for a rare collectable wants a common one from that range or worse the leaflet that comes with every one, no-one wanting to buy anything to do with computer accessories wants a sim card prong and nobody buying anything wants an envelope or an instruction set for the listed item. What is most frustrating is that ebay could easily stop this: Ban multi-price listings (tell sellers to list twice) or limit the gap between highest and lowest price to, say, 25% (max price = min price plus 25% or 10%?) or at the very least review every listing where the gap is over a threshold (start at 500% and work your way down?).

What are the rules on pricing something at £3.69, and when click on the listing there are multiple options starting at £7.95 and nothing whatsoever at the lower price?

Can anyone do this to get views and sales? Seems like an misleading click-bait exercise to me. That's like Tesco pricing bottles of whisky at £3.00, and when you get to the checkout they're at £19.00

Is this fair or permitted?

Thanks

It's probably a misuse of multi variation listings but there must be something at the lower price or it wouldn't show it as an option.
