An item I was watching has disappeared - why?

Hi,

I wonder if this has happened to anyone else and, if so, if it is something that often occurs? I made an offer on an item which was refused. Out of interest, I decided to watch and see what the closing price was but, when I next looked on my eBay watching, the item had disappeared from the list and there is no record at all of the offer that I had made. I am curious as to why this thing has so completely disappeared - it's as thought I dreamt it!!!!

All suggestions gratefully considered.

Seller may have ended early or withdrawn it,, but if it has disappeared altogether more likely ebay removed it.

Oh - didn't think of that. Do you know why eBay might remove things so completely that there is no trace at all? I am wondering now if there might have been something really dodgy (or potentially illegal) about the lot. Thanks for responding so quickly - I can forget about it now!
