anybody have any information what system is best pay direct or via paypal especially on low value items

As a buyer paypal is best, ebay are moving sellers to their own Managed payments, no longer paid into paypal.

Buyers now pay via paypal, Applepay, etc.

sorry i should have made it clear i am a seller . i find it is the 30p final fee which is added to the % which is a breaking point on low value items is it possible to switch between options

MP is slightly cheaper on fees than paypal.
Paypal also charge 30p.
If you were using micro paypal, then MP is costlier.
If you refuse MP, you can't sell on ebay.

Thanks for that, I think I have worked it out it is more expensive for lower priced items as the 30p fee on a £1.00 item is really 30% on top of the 12.??% so instead of trying to sell small items I am trying to put bundles together by style and postage cost and then trying to work out a price from there . Papal was 3.4%+20p so I think it breaks even round about the £5.00 sale price .remember the % is also taken on postage

Paypal fee changed a while ago, it is now 2.9%+30p.

As far as I am aware there is very little difference in costs, and if you are asking as a Seller, I don't think you would know how a buyer pays.

Very few sellers are able to accept Direct Payments, that is the buyer provides details of Bank or Credit Card on line or over the Phone. In fact it would be rather foolish for any buyer to do this, about as foolish as the buyers who are peruaded to pay by Bank transfer.

Direct payments should only be made to well know On Line sellers and those you trust. Giving card details to a member you don't know is a good way to get a card cloned. That is why now wherever you pay the card never leaves your possession.
