Need to cancel an open return request

I would like someone to help me with a problem. I need to cancel my open return request so that I can get a refund as the seller has agreed. They claim I have to cancel the refund request then they will refund the amount otherwise it can't be done. I have tried everything and can't find the option to tap for a cancellation request. I've tried ringing ebay and still went to a voicemail. Can someone please help me if they had an issue like this and how they handled it. Thank you

Do not close the case. If the seller does not refund you will not be able to open another one. The seller can refund via the case, without requiring the item be returned if that's what you've agreed. If not escalate the case to ebay after 3 working days and they will enforce the refund after item has been returned at seller's expense.

Thank you so much. Yes I think I will contact the person and tell him to refund the money and if he says he can't then I will actually contact ebay. Its just that ever since I been buying things from ebay /amazon. I've never had to return anything. So I'm confused. So it means after starting the returns process I can ask ebay to help after 3 days.?Thanks for answering to my query. I appreciate your help

Good job you didn't find how to cancel, as if you did you would never see a refund.

What is the point in opening a case to get a refund, if you think a seller will refund outside a case? For a start they don't get the selling fee refunded and the Paypal Fee is not refunded, so they try to avoid doing anything by getting Buyers to let them off the hook.

Thank you for your help. I will be contacting the seller and giving him this new information. Hopefully he will sort it out as agreed otherwise I will contact ebay and let them know what's going on. Thank u.

Thank you John. After getting you advice I sent the seller an email with screenshot of your message here(I scribbled out your name) and today I get an email from both ebay and the seller that a refund has been issued for 70% and should be in my account in 48 hours. Thank you so much for your help and advice. Will be very careful next time.

Thank you for please blossom, I received an email from both ebay and the seller. Getting back 70% in 48 hours. If it wasn't for the advice on here I would have definitely lost my money. Especially your comments about how he can return the money in an open case must have done it. As I screenshot this page (scribbled out the names) and sent it along with my email saying do you care to explain why you gave me step by step advice how to close the case when on here people are saying otherwise. I saud you were trying to cheat me and fool me. I will be letting eBay know about what happened. Thank you so much for your help and advice.
