Actually, the more I think about it, the more annoyed I am getting. The bidder did not contact me, then he fibbed and neither he, nor eBay thought to let me know. Never mind....I`ll get over it.

Bid withdrawn

A little while ago, a buyer asked me to cancel his bid as he had clicked on the wrong item. That was fine. It was his request, so I cancelled the bid. No problems. No defects.

An item I had ending today, has had a bid on it for a few days. All of a sudden, with no notification, the bid has gone. When I checked, the reason the buyer gave, was that I had changed the description. I have had that item listed, on and off, since September or October of 2019 (approx) and have never changed the description of the item once. Nor have I altered the postage or starting bid. On the one hand, I`m not bothered, it was only £3 (+p&p), but on the other hand, it annoys me that he can tell fibs to get out of buying something. If he had asked me to cancel his bid, I would have done with no problems.

So, question is, will I get a defect?

No, you won't get a defect.

You can if you wish report this buyer for making an invalid bid retraction. Frankly, you're better off with a bid retraction that having to refund a winning bidder who fabricates some fault in order to open a money back guarantee case.
