There is no agreement about no tax and duties, there is a free trade agreement with no tariffs, not the same thing.

I am tryibgvto buy something in the UK for shipping to France and eBay is adding £14 Import duty. As there has been agreement between UK and EU that no duties will be charged this should not happen. I realise that eBay had to be ready for no agreement but this should not be happening now there is an agreement. How domi sort this out? The seller says it is not him as eBay fulfill the postage etc.

When we were in the EU then if you paid VAT in one country there was no VAT to pay when into another country.

There are no duties between UK and EU but it seems that - like any other country - there is VAT both ways. Where a seller is registered for VAT then normally they will zero rate the export [so £120 sale would be £100] and the French will add their VAT when imported. The old £15 allowance has gone so it's any value now. I do not think that the currect system allows for this and ebay may simply add 20% overall. I hope I am wrong and we shall see if there is clarification.
