Took a chance on buyer description of car. No problems. Etc. Texted private to ask again if any problems.
Due to town of purchase going to tier 4 I couldn’t collect. Arranged a trailer delivery. Car arrived. Bad noise on engine not disclosed. Checked with PayPal ebay on the not as described section to be told. Cannot help. Do we have any redress at all. Small claims court ? Seller doesn’t want to know.

vehicles are not covered by ebay or paypal

you are on your own with this,

if the seller is registered as a business you might be able to take them to court,

if they are a private seller you can't

There is no redress through eBay or paypal and unless the seller was a business seller then you have no hope I'm afraid through the County Court.

Private sellers are not required to know anything of the quality of what they are selling. I'm guessing that you would have had the opportunity to see and hear the car before taking it away but did not do so?

Sadly yes. My own fault. Just going on the assumption that what the seller wrote “ perfect working order “ was indeed a lie.
Was going to go but the area went to T4 so took a gamble.

nope, vehicles are not covered by the MBG, buyers are supposed to thoroughly inspect the car before handing over their money
