"eBay will just refund those that have put claims in."

Don't let it come to that, if ebay have to refund you get a defect and no refund of selling fee. Always deal with Not Received cases promptly, as Defects are VERY Serious, and could get you suspended.

Ebay expect no more than 2 Defects per 100 sales, so even one would be more than 2%.

I am getting messages from buyers that their parcels have not arrived l realise it is the Royal mail fault due to delays.Up to yesterday only 2 parcels had been delivered some were sent on the 29th November yet you can not make a claim through royal mail yet and eBay will just refund those that have put claims in.Surely eBay could help all the sellers who are having this problem,it's even on the BBC website now about the delays

Ebay have made this worse by changing the time buyers can escalate case from 8 days to 3 working days,

I haven't seen anything about ebay extending this due to delays.

So you may end up refunding, if item turns up you can ask buyer to repay, but ebay won't get involved.
