Without wishing to seem heartless eBay does rather rely on buyers being careful. Clearly if he "claims" to have despatched not only did you erroneously buy you also paid.

There is no right to return with a private seller and - as you say - if you wish to return to a business [UK] seller you must do so with opening a case in the resolution centre. This will ensure that you get a refund. Your message was edited for - presumably - profanity. If you are implying that the seller might simply send some "rubbish" rather than the item you ordered that is a different matter. You then open a "not as described" case in the resolution centre [link below] and the seller sends a label to return. You are presumably new to eBay and it is essential that you follow eBay's rules. They will not change things for you I'm afraid.

If the seller does not deal with the case then you must escalate to eBay after 3 business days. I cannot emphasise enough that to get a refund you must use the resolution centre every time

Hi there.

I made a mistake with an order and clicked to cancel it less than five minutes after the initial order....but the seller said he could not cancel as the item had already been posted.

He was trying to say he had posted the item in less than 5 minutes from recieving the order...lol

Now i have to wait for a delivery just to send it back again...!

What a joke.

Noticed there was a lot of negative comments for the seller afterwards...items not refunded, wrong items sent, wrong sizes ect.

Also..there is no option to talk to anyone at Ebay to say what happened, all i can do is wait to get the item then send it back...what a waste of everyones time.

Buyers have No Rights to a Cancellation on Ebay, Bids are Binding. You can ask by sending a Cancellation Request. A Registered Business Seller will usually Cancel as they have to offer a 30 day Change of Mind Returns Policy.

Private Sellers do not have to Accept a Cancellation.

Sorry you miss understood.
It was not a bid but a full payment for a new item.

My point was that the seller argued he had received the order , got it,
wrapped it up and posted it...in less than 5 minutes.
Now i have to wait to get it just to run the returns process.
I looked at the sellers negative comments and saw quite a few regarding not
giving refunds and sending wrong items.
So i can assume the seller is sending me some **bleep** that i have to pay to
return and then not get my refund.

It really makes no sense for a seller not to cancel, as it costs them more than it is worth if buyer returns even at the buyers expense as seller still has to pay Paypal fees, for nothing.

More than likely that seller never posts and buyer has to wait until past the expected delivery date before opening a Not Received Case. Many buyers probably forget or can't be bothered so seller gets to keep the money.

It is not much good reading Feedback AFTER you have bought, the sensible thing is to read it BEFORE buying.

Have no idea what you are talking about...of course i paid , its the last
part of the process..
You use your card to pay for the item then after a few moments it says "
Thanks your order has been placed"
It was only a couple of minutes after this that i realised i had ordered
the wrong item and clicked to cancel.....Within another couple of minutes
the seller claimed he could not cancel as he had already posted the item..

MY POINT IS HE CANT HAVE POSTED IT IN LESS THAN 5 MINUTES.

He would have to have seen the order, got the item, wrapped it up..and sent
it..in less than 5 minutes.....NOT POSSIBLE.

It was then that i noticed lots of negative comments for the seller.
Clearly running a scam.
But all i can do now is wait for the item...(if it ever arrives) then let
ebay run its returns policy.

Exactly.....its a con.
Another point i was trying to make was there is no way to contact Ebay to
tell them.
All you can do is wait then do the Ebay returns/ not received goods.

Its stupid.
