I keep getting the message "please provide the correct information" when trying to update my account phone number,. Any help please?

If you need to update your phone details go to Account tab >> Site Preferences >> Personal Information, scroll down to registered address and phone details are just below this.

Use a desktop browser, and not the eBay app to manage this.

I have tried exactly this on several attempts but still get the message "please provide the correct information", even though I have put correct new number in place.. I do use my desktop browser (firefox in linux) and also have tried in Windows Edge browser,.. Maddening!!

Hi all, thank you for your input tressygirl,

I finally managed to update my phone number. In case that anyone else may find it useful, I had to turn off two stage verification before succeeding to changing my number.. All good now.. 🙂
