Why can't I use my nectar vouchers on items purchased from america? they do not show in checkout.

Check T&C's of voucher to make sure you use correctly.

Wow T&C's. Never thought of that.

Apparently nectar vouchers are UK only and do not work on eBay USA items. You have to convert your points into vouchers then go into live chat and ask them to give you the reference number for that voucher and input that reference at the checkout.
Why they don't give you the reference No in the first place, God knows?

Nectar vouchers are different to ebay ones, you didn't say which voucher.
As Nectar is UK company (nothing to do with ebay), you can only earn & spend them as UK resident.

You can use them on UK site for sellers who's items show on our site,
can't see how .com site will accept, as I said Nectar is UK company.
But if you found a way to do this, all good.

Thanks. I did not find the answer, live chat suggested it. This begs the question why don,t they just give you the ref number when you convert the nectar points into eBay voucher points. It would save all the hassle and running about and having to cancel and reorder again.

I have only used nectar vouchers on UK site, they show up at ebay checkout, you tick to use,
never used for non UK purchase, so never come across the problem.

That was the problem. The nectar vouchers do not show on eBay checkout when it is a USA item. Only the box asking for voucher code.
