Hi

Out of interest and how much would you be saving by altering the postage to 2nd class?

If i were you i would pay........if only to avoid an unpaid strike on your account. Most sellers block bids from anyone with 2 unpaid strikes on their account within the previous 12 months.

If i may be bluntly honest what is unfair is you asking a seller to alter their postage after you had won the item. When you bid you would have seen the postage and packaging charges and by bidding you accepted them.

Hi

When I won an item I contacted the seller and asked if it was please possible to post the item to me by 2nd class post (rather than 1st class) so save me some money as I was nopt in a hurry to receive it, the seller agreed however has not sent me the revised invoice despite me chasing the new invoice, the seller again said that he would sent it but to date I have not received it, hence the reason I have not paid. I think it's very unfair to threaten me with an upaid mark and think the process does not give the buyer fair enough opportunity to state the reason for non payment before being awarded the demerit. Whatever happened to Innocent untill proven guilty ?

You also need to look at your own listings......sold a phone for £94 and sent it 2nd class signed for?

If that phone got lost or damaged in the post then RM would not have fully compensated you if at all....because you sent it by the wrong postage method. You may be prepared to take the risk but for future reference should not maybe expect other sellers to.
Well as a seller myself with 100% feedback I do anything I can to assist my buyers, which includes amending postage or even cancelling an item if they changed their mind. I only asked him he didn't have to say yes 🤷‍♀️

When you bid for the item you accepted the postal service and charge that the seller offered.

If you had wanted to use 2nd class post you should have asked before bidding. For quite a small cost saving you're giving the seller the hassle of revising your invoice. They may also be worried about being marked down by eBay for late delivery, as the estimated delivery date in the listing was based on 1st class post.

The seller didn't have to agree to this request; all you have to complain about is that they didn't let you know this. As far as eBay is concerned, you accepted the use of 1st class post in bidding and will receive a strike if you don't pay.
