Mutli-buy discounts

Hi,

trying to set up a multibuy discount but I want the first level of discount to require three items being purchased. When I try to set the discount for 2 or more items to --, it blanks out the discounts for purchases of higher numbers of items.

I've seen plenty of listings with discounts only accessible with purchase of 3 or more, or even 5 or more items from other sellers, but I can't see how they could have set it up.

you need to use promotions manager, not the option on the listing form

Pixiesen2012, thanks but it was the promotions manager I was using. i was planning on putting quite a lot of different listings in the offer, so I was setting it up from scratch in the promotions manager when I had the problems I put in the OP.

what you describe is what I see on the listing form for offers,

in the promotions manager you set the number of items from a drop down

That's not what it looks like for me at all. I can only copy and paste it in the text atm, but this is the text I'm getting:

The discount will not be applied if the buyer purchases item A with item B, item C with item B, etc.

did you make choices in the top boxes?

if I change them ebay shows dfferent options if I leave them blank I get the above

There are no top boxes. That's was everything in the section. Above that section there's only the normal navigation options of Overview Orders Listings Marketing Performance Payments Research for the Seller hub.

I've just realised what the problem is. On the drop down on my promotions tab on the marketing page there was the option of setting up a multi-buy discount, I foolishly clicked onto that because why wouldn't I, when I should have been clicking onto the 'create an order discount'.
