That ebay ID won't be used again so no point in reporting. All sellers should only ever send to the address paypal gives them when they get the email saying the buyer has paid. If they do that, then what happened to you, can't happen.

Scams

Hi. I was just wondering whether anyone in the eBay Community has had a problem with scam ebay users. I sold an item and received an email immedately after with confirmation of the item listing ending and stating they were the winning bidder and with an alternative address for postage. I sent that item to that address without checking that the ebay ID in the message was the same as the ebay ID of the successful bidder (a mistake I will not make again). Turns out the message was from a spam account that had only been set up a few days before the listing ended. I am so cross with myself. The final bid was £50 so not an insignificant amount of money in these tough times. I cannot get through to speak with someone in eBay customer services as they guidance on how to deal with a problem just keeps looping around their online guidance. Has anyone out there had a similar experience or can help me in terms of reporting this issue. I am not expecting to get my money back but don't want this to happen to anyone else.

Thanks in advance for any guidance.
