Advice on new offers

Hello, I have recently listed an item which expires at the end of next week. However a buyer has bid the asking price and the email received from ebay informing of this say it is valid for 23 hours. Should this bid remain until the listing is finished? Thank you for your help.

Offers and bids are two different things.

An offer given by the buyer is not binding, unless accepted, it has to be accepted by the seller, and it then sells the item to that buyer. If the offer is ignored it will expire in the stated 23 hours. Or declined any time by the seller.

You have an item listed with 2 bids and £82 reached in the auction. With 4 days to go you may well get higher bids, if not that item sells for £82.

Thank you, I just couldn't understand the 23 hours bit, not being that familiar with eBay.

Yes, offers are usually valid for 48 hours, but some are notiifed to be valid for 24 hours, therefore both have a clock count down.

It is not a proper offer and you cannot accept it. Tell them to bid.

If you had best offer on this listing then it is no longer valid.,once here are bids.

The other item does not have best offer either so I do not know how you can have an offer which still has23 hours to go.
