Feedback - What does this mean?

Can anybody please explain to me why some feedback comments just shows the feedback symbol (positive, neutral or negative) followed by two dashes (--) and no other comment and the member ID s shown as just four asterisks (****). I am seeing this quite lot and don't understand it.

we don't understand it either,

it seems to be ebays latest 'glitch'

Perhaps you could give an example.

It is possible that the feedback has been removed by ebay, but the red dot left. This is sometimes done. I don't know what circumstances produces this, as usually when feedback is removed it goes completely including the Red Dot.

Another possibiity is that the buyer has anonymous feedback, so that when they leave feedback, it cannot be read and the ID is completely hidden.

Ebay is constantly fiddling with things instead of dealing with things that really need attention. For example individual Bidding History is now not shown and ID History of changes also gone.

I think it might be something to do with sellers complaining about the Feedback that has been left by a Buyer. I think I have only seen it on FB left for a seller.

Also Negative FB comments have been removed by EBay who then say when questioned about this that it was an error and should not have been removed. However, they are unable to re-instate the comment!
