Combined postage

I have customers that want me to combine postage. BUT, when they buy the items they are being forced to 'pay immediately', thus having to pay postage for each item. I have unticked the 'pay immediately if paying via Paypal' option for each listing involved but they are still being forced to pay immediately otherwise I do not receive the order and can not invoice them for all the items with the combined postage.

Any ideas????

It cannot be changed once a buyer has purchased

In order to request combined P&P they can still do this by adding to their shopping cart & then using the request total before purchase

These options are only there BEFORE purchase

Thks for reply.
They haven't paid yet. When they click Buy It Now they are being forced to pay for each item individually immediately.
So, should it be the case where if they click buy it now it goes in the basket and then they request total?

It should be yes.....but they can add without clicking Buy Now......once all in the cart they can request a total....that then commits them to the purchase but they only pay when you send a combined invoice
