is no one checking anymore

No-one ever did check listings. EBay's user agreement makes it clear that they take no responsibility, and that the seller is entirely responsible for the accuracy of the description.

There are plenty of honest sellers on eBay, and some genuine bargains to be had. And in most (but not all) situations, strong buyer protection if things go wrong.

However, buyers need to have their wits about them, read descriptions fully, use common sense, not fall for too good to be true offers and READ AND UNDERSTAND eBay's money back guarantee policy, see: http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/money-back-guarantee.html

It is up to you to report, there is a report link on every listing.

Only very foolish buyers can lose money on ebay. Money Back Guarantee covers most purchases, those not covered, only needs buyers to use commonsense.

Do you really think that ebay can look at every ad. or actually go round to each seller and vet every item. Come back to the real world!

"I'm" certainly not at it on here and there is no one here who will see it from eBay.

The problem for eBay is surely as indicated by @john1297576 that there are just so many potential sellers who "could" be fraudulent. They do close them down and they pop up again.

Truly it is "buyer beware". Would you really buy and pay for a car without seeing it. Would you expect a "private" seller to deliver from Scotland?

There are certain things which it is unwise to buy on eBay!

im not daft.theres that many fraud listings in ebay motors i have learnt to know just from the listings time.
the last few days theres been hundreds in a handful of searches. id spend hours some days reporting listings and its not really my place to do it. because you think ebay 'cant be' expected to check everyone doesnt mean they should be doing nothing to combat these things.
if i put something i shouldnt in a listing they are always on hand to point it out or edit it but 'cant' keep on top of fraud
the listings ive seen have end times that dont change and paste/copy ads from previous ended items.
maybe they should employ me i could do with a nice easy job working from bed.. sorry ..home editing stuff
