Question Re: No viewing allowed in Member To Member Support DO NOT DELETE

Thanks everyone for your replies. I am not aware that the item is stolen, but the seller was unable to produce a receipt, a photo of the VIN number and kept asking why I wanted to know saying it wasn't stolen!! Sounded very guilty, that's all. Were I able to view the item, I probably would have bought it via Facebook Marketplace as I've been talking to him since end of Jan. Timewaster I guess.

Sellers/buyers are not allowed to exchange contact info before sale end, so no viewing allowed.

If it is business seller, their contact info is on all listings.

If collection item, then you go & inspect, if happy pay cash & go home, if you don't take item, seller sends you cancellation request.

If listing includes postage, then you are covered by MBG, open ebay case & seller provides returns label for you to send back for full refund.

If the seller is specifically prohibiting viewing I wouldn't be comfortable bidding unless I was intending on paying cash on collection.

Your seller could easily allow you to have their contact details pre-sale by opting in - they may be unaware of that option, however, it exists and its important people know about it - see the link below.

Thanks t-20 for your reply. I am unable to communicate with this seller now. It started on Facebook, and he kept saying "its not stolen" when I asked for receipts or a VIN serial number/plate. I never suggested it was stolen, but stating it is 4 years old in the ad, I think asking if there are receipts (as proof) is not unreasonable. Despite following up on FB, he cut off communications but only after he told me it was on ebay! I have decided not to bid as this person is possibly dodgy and his trailer is possibly stolen. BTW, I could find no guidance on ebay about what happens in the event one discovers one has unwittingly purchased stolen goods. That would have been useful. I also sent a message via ebay asking if I might view the trailer, but he is ignoring me, so no change of getting him to use your link. Wish I could leave feedback for this seller as he is not honourable in my opinion.

To be honest you should always view an item in person before handing over any money to be sure it exists if nothing else.
