Unusual email from ebay???

I have just recieved this email but don't rmrmber doing what ist says but am cautious about just pressing contact us button as instructed. Email says following:

I would not want anyone to truly say this is a valid email from eBay, it may be , if it came through eBay messaging system and it does use your full correct name? However, these can be so clever, so real looking, so alwats best to be wary.

The main clue here is they are saying your phone number has been changed and are verifying this. Has it been changed?

You can always call eBay Customer Support from the Help & Contact tab above, ask them if they sent this email , tell them that you did / did not change any contact details.

Above all if there are any links in it, do not click on them.

Genuine messages from ebay will also be in messages. Surely though the first place you should look is at your ACCOUNT, to see if your phone number has been changed. You must know whether you have changed your phone number recently.

If it has you must contact ebay immediately, if it hasn't forward the email to spoof@ebay.com

For someone who's concerned about security it wasn't great idea to leave your real name in the message.

You might want to click on options to the right of your question, and edit it to remove this.

It's a genuine email - it has your name in it.

That said, use the contact us tab at the top of the page and select account security, then phone eBay (no point selecting call me back if someone has changed your number) and tell them what's going on.

I have looked at account and checked telephone details no change also no duplicate of message in my Ebay account inbox so will take you advice and use spoof email app. Thank you

If there is no message in eBay messages, it's a phishing email, forward it to spoof@ebay.com
