Not Covered By Ebay Money Back Guarentee.

I ordered a large radio control aeroplane for spare or repair on 22nd October and paid in full £130 inc postage. I have waited 5 weeks and have received nothing other than excuses from the seller as to why he hasn't posted it.

I asked for a refund yesterday but have so far heard nothing back. I have just been informed by ebay that I am not covered by the money back guarentee. So is it OK for someone to just take £130 of my hard earned cash and not send the item? Isn't this called stealing? Ebay have let me down. Someone please tell me what I can do to get my money back.

You have 30 days to open a not received dispute in ebay.

You are covered by paypal if you paid that way so open the not received dispute immediatley

Escalate as soon as you can but within 20 days

If you read the Ebay Money Back Guarantee you would see that you have 30 days from the Estimated Delivery Date to open an Item Not Received Case to get a full Refund. You have let that timeout.

You can open a PayPal Case for Item Not Received. You have 180 days. Find your Payment and Resolve a Problem.

How has eBay let you down? EBay gives buyers a money back guarantee if an item doesn't arrive, or isn't as described. The time limit for claiming is 30 days, yet you allowed this to drag on for five weeks without doing anything.

You have let yourself down, by not bothering to read the conditions - there's a link to eBay's guarantee at the top of every listing.

I have autism and things become confusing for me and the strong medication I'm on for severe Rheumatoid Arthritis doesn't help either. Didn't bother reading? How do you know that? I did read it but as I just explained I have trouble taking things in and understanding/remembering them. Ebay could have explained in their email that I was protected with Paypal but I was only told I was not eligible for ebay money back protection. This would have saved a lot of upset had I been told that I wasn't going to loose my money because I used Paypal to purchase the item.

It is up to you to know what protection you have.

Ebay and paypal are two different business so it was not up to them to tell you about paypal money back guarantee

I understand that things may be difficult but when using ebay you have to be aware of all problems and how to deal with them
Have you now opened the dispute in paypal and received your refund?

I've opened the dispute and sent the seller a message but no reply from him as yet. I've been very patient with him but five weeks of excuses is wearing a bit thin. I've advised him on how to disassemble and pack the aircraft. I also suggested about ten days ago that he give me a refund if he was having trouble finding a courier. He ignored that.

You dont have to be patient or to message the seller or even to wait 5 weeks.
Ebay is quite clear you have 30 days to open a dispute and if you go over that time then you can not open a dispute on ebay

Do you mean you have opened the paypal dispute as advised. If you have then escalate it as soon as you can but within 20 days to get your money back.
You must follow the rules or you lose out
