Postage does not cover delivery to Shetland

Did not know postage was more when one of my items were brought its going to Shetland which is £1 more than what the postage stated so now I can't send it as have not got the funds from buyer which I have messaged twice and had no reply, shall I just issue a refund?

NO. If you have miscalculated the postage cost , you have to bear the brunt of that loss.

We've all done it in the past, and to far greater value than £1.

If you refund , your new account will receive a damaging defect and you will still pay a seller fee, because the buyer has not initiated this cancellation. It does not take too many defects to close a Private seller's account down permanently.. eBay do not like unhappy buyers.

You can uplift funds into your Paypal account.

You can cover any losses by adding them to your future starting prices on listings.

Which item was it as most of your items seem to be in the range of postage for what they are.

2nd class postage RM is suitable for Shetland if the item is less than 2kg and measures no more than 35cmX 45cm X 16cm

The only one I can see that may not fit that is the vanilty bag but that would not be just for Shetland the same would apply if you were posting to the UK mainland

If you have made a mistake then you should pay the extra

You can not ask the buyer to pay any more than you asked on the listing

Do not just refund as you will pay the fees and a defect and possible negative feedback

I am afraid it was your mistake and you should cover the loss.

You are lucky it is only £1

Before you list you need to weigh measure your item with the packaging so you do not make any mistakes

Sorry, but for a £1 you want to delay the sale and risk upsetting your buyer?

Given you're a new eBayer and you're already wearing one red dot for non performance I think you need to rethink the way you're approaching the site, you'll be permanently restricted before you've got started if you keep on the way you are.

If you are using Royal Mail then postage to Shetland is the same as if you were posting within your home town. SHETLAND is in the UK.

If you have the wrong postage it would be wrong for anywhere in the UK. Your mistake you pay.

By messaging the buyer asking for more I would think you are well on the way to getting negative feedback.
