Well, you have done everything we suggest one does, for a hacked account , changing passwords on all accounts you own, and conatcting eBay.

I would also advise you contact Paypal, and also advise your bank about this breach.

If you did not get a satisfactory answer from eBay CS when you called, call again tomorrow morning, early, the lines open at 8 a.m. there's more chance of Dublin answering, and more chance of you getting a fully informed answer.

Has eBay sorted this out now?

Have you spoken with PayPal too?

You also need to work out how your account was compromised in the first place. Presumably you have up to date security on all of the devices you use? You should be aware of how to stay online, and each site that you use (particularly financial ones) MUST have a password that is unique to that site. Your most important account is actually your email, because once somebody has access to that, it's a gateway to every other account you own.

Most accounts are compromised because you've logged on on an unsecure wifi connection (perhaps when out and about), or left yourself logged in somewhere, or via a phishing email. An innocuous looking email pretending to be from PayPal or eBay arrives, it features a link which, when clicked on, leads to a spoof log in, where your password is captured. The golden rule is never to click on any link in an email, but to straight to the site in question to see if there really is an issue there.

It's not eBay or PayPal's security issue though, it's yours. You're the one with the problem that has has enabled somebody else to access your account.

What you're describing in your opening post doesn't sound like a hack if you did actually sell those items. I thought you were saying that somebody else accessed your account and listed them.

Did you sell the items?

If so, the transaction can't be cancelled by the buyer.

If they have reported the card that was used to fund the payment as stolen (a chargeback for unauthorised use) then you are protected against this by PayPal Seller Protection providing you met their criteria.

You'll need to explain exactly what your scenario is, just the facts please.

The fact is

I sold two items.

Everything went nice and smoothly.
On 19th of November I had a Quick look into my Ebay account and saw that those transaction was refunfed:

'your reason for cancellation: the item is damage or out of stock,

Now why would I sell my items worth a lot of money and when I got the money a week later I would do a refund?

My issue is that someone has accessed my account with out my knowledge and they had to hacked my account there is no other way.

Thing that money has left my banking account already and as far as I am aware this is still pending and buyer will receive my money (not their!! As they paid of course in the first place but they have my items and they will receive my money due to this hack/fraud).

I think it breaks any of the law and terms of conditon. At least Ebay needs to encourage them to refund this money due to scam

It's a very weird scenario.

If somebody did access your account and cancel the transaction, resulting in refunds being triggered for those buyers, eBay will be able to tell you if the action was made from a device you own, or somebody else. That's what I'd be focusing on. Did eBay confirm that there was suspicious activity for sure?

Well this is a strange one - can you be a bit clearer about the problem?

What you appear to be saying is someone signed into your account, )having first bought one of the very many identical phones you've got for sale, and have sold previously,) and issued themselves a refund after you sent them their item?

And another someone did the same thing?

eBay agree unauthorised activity has been carried out on your account but haven't removed the listing?

PayPal agree you've been compromised but are still trying to get the cash from you?

What you're describing, if I understand it correctly, that's not opinion, it isn't possible - the simple mechanics of it don't work.

Can you break it down because as it stands it makes literally zero sense.

I had listed 2 phones for sale.

One was sold around 6th of November and another one around 20th
Same model.

On 21th of November I checked my account and Apparently it says that refund has been sent to the buyer as I decided to cancel order due to damage and out of stock.

Why would I refund someone if they paid for the phones and left me positive feedback? That is simply not me.

Paypal has not notice aunothirsed activity on my account. But Ebay has

Now my question is that my account has been definitely hacked and the time time when someone used cancellation one of the items has been relisted itself.

Money has been taken from my account and Ebay status of cancellation refund is pending as money are on their way.

This is completely mess to me and Ebay is invastage it. One of the buyer said he is happy to do refund other one is complaing.

But what is the worse for me that this is me that lost item and money? Why buyers has been refunded and how?

For money to be refunded when you don't have a PayPal balance that is sufficient to meet the refund, you'd need to sign into PayPal to issue the refund. Non balance refunds can't auto-issue. If it had been refunded from a balance there wouldn't be any pending status in eBay.

That means your PayPal account would have to be compromised too - so lets get a better idea of exactly what's happening.

Go to PayPal, click one of the refunded payments, tell me what it says under associated payments.

Hi

I had a lady on the phone from Ebay that is in charge of fraud activity and customer Services.

We were talking about this issue almost an hour as she had to do checks. This time she said that she cannot find any suspicious activity on my account. However I have realised that someone has sent me an link and address to some dodgy website before this refund has actually started.

'' Hi there, i am contacting you because i am trying to purchase this item today however ebay is consistently throwing an error to me saying there is an issue with the sellers account and i should forward them this article.

i have attached an image of the error i am recieving aswell.

https://ebay-review-declined-payments.com/

Please let me know once you have resolved this problem so i can attempt to purchase again as i need this item promptly.''

This is a fraud scam website that could possibly caused a taking over of my account. The lady was very helpful and she advised me that I need to wait until buyer will receive my refund and Ebay will explain this diffucult situation and again encourage buyer to send the money back. One of them seems that he is willing to do so other one is not willing to help at the moment.

I still do not understand what happened. The recent message from refund looks like:

'Hello

You approved an order cancellation from... Login

Here's what you should do next:

If the buyer has already paid for this order, please refund the order total and any postage costs.'

This message now says that buyer has sent a cancellation. But when I look at cancellation details it says that I have refund the buyer due to item being of stock or damage.

I am completely lost. I do not understand what happened and who messed it up and even for me this all refunds are mystery.

Anyway lady will give me a Ring again tomorrow and I will get more info regarding to this matter. Looks like Ebay is willing to help me. Thank you
