unauthorised seller fees

Hi,

I have received an email from PayPal telling me £2.00 has been taken from my account for eBay seller fees. I have never sold anything on eBay! Can anyone explain this to me? Or tell me what to do?

Have you looked at your paypal account to see if such a payment exists? Have you looked at your ebay account to see if tere is such a fee outstanding?

If you have never listed or sold on ebay then this is likely to be a phishing email hoping you will log into paypal through the message and give your password away.

I suggest you forward it to spoof@paypal.com

Does the card number shown appear to be your card number?

Double check that this is not a phishing email, and do not click on any links in it.

Go to your seller account and see exactly what you have been charged for. So on your homepage, go to Account tab >> Seller Account >> Invoices >> or there, scroll down to the link All Selling Activity. It will give you a breakdown of that £2.00 fee.

Many say on here ' we have not sold anything,' whereby in the past the reality is, an item WAS sold, but no payment was made from the buyer. If eBay are not told about a non payer, they will still charge you a seller fee. Can you remember if this perhaps has happened in the past?

You say you've never sold anything, but have you ever listed anything for sale - even if it didn't sell? There can sometimes be a listing fee.

If not, this email sounds like a fake to me. I'm sure eBay doesn't receive payments from PayPal on "support@ebay.uk".

Did the message contain any links to click on? If so, they will take you to a bogus log-in site to steal your password. Do NOT click on them.

As has been said, log in to your paypal account to see whether a £2.00 payment has really been taken. You can find out whether you've been charged for anything by eBay by viewing your invoice here: http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/sell/invoice-display.html.

Aaaah did you say it says Negative £2 ? I mean showing a minus sign in front of the £2? Then it is eBay who owe you the £2, not you owing them?

To claim that, go top of the page from the Help & Contact tab, type into bar there, Fee Credit help, follow prompts to Call Us. An agent will transfer that £2 to your Paypal account, from there you can transfer to your bank account if you wish. @rebeccamac77

no, it's not negative. £2 has left my PayPal account, and subsequently my bank account 😞
