Pushy demanding seller

Hi,

I bid on two dresses and won bids.
Seller immediately contacted me regarding combining the shipping fees for both, saving me a couple of pounds - so far, so good!
Then contacted me soon after demanding I pay asap so she can post it to me immediately!!

It is Sunday, no post office would be open and I'm in the middle of cooking for my children.
I found this to be rude and unnesessary, and felt treated like it was assumed I've done something wrong (I haven't)

To be honest, I feel harassed and don't want to buy these dresses from her any more.
I always pay within 24 hrs and sellers NEVER repeatedly contacted me with demands before!

Am I allowed to cancel my purchase? Or will I be banned from Ebay?
I've never cancelled before

I want to cancel

Sorry you feel harassed, paying within a couple of days is quite acceptable. Unfortunately Buyers can't Cancel, you can ask the Seller to Cancel your Purchases. They are only obliged to if they are a Business Seller. If you don't Pay they can open an Unpaid Item Case against you. You would end up with an Unpaid Item Strike on your Account. 2 of those and you would find it very difficult to buy on here as Sellers can Block Buyers who have 2 or more Unpaid Item Strikes.

When I was selling my personal items I only went to the post office on Sundays due to work and family commitments.

A LOT of post offices within garages, supermarkets and convenience stores are open on Sundays although the items don't actually get collected until Monday.

I think you're being a bit over sensitive.

(And first time, at 9 pm)
A bit eager isn't it?
To contact 3 times, all within a couple of hrs of bid finishing?

She's registered as a business seller and accepts returns within 14 days, so I'm entitled to ask to cancel the order - phew!

Harassing a customer is bad customer service!
So no, I'm not being "a bit sensitive"

I'm paying money for a product, not to be made to feel bad. To the point that I'm here at 5 am, typing about this **bleep** because it had upset me.

There is a reason stores with good customer service attract more sales in the real world. Online experience shouldn't be any different.

Please don't feel bad about this seller asking for a prompt payment, there may be a change of circumstance that enables her only to post within a quick timescale.

I agree harassing a buyer , especially if it was rudely done, is not the best way forward.

If you have bought two pretty dresses you wanted to buy, pay, receive and enjoy them!

Have these reminders a come from the seller oir were some automated by eBay ??

In the last few weeks I havew won items on a weekend while I was away & received the exact same email from different sellers after 24 hours requesting payment so the seller can send the item........these emails came from EBAY NOT THE SELLER

"Demanding?" Are you saying she actually said "I demand that you pay for these dresses asap"? If so, that would be pushy.

From where I see it, this sounds like a good seller who firstly offered to combine the postage, without your even having to ask for this, and secondly let you know that she would post it immediatley on receiving your payment.

In any case, asp doesn't mean you have to stop cooking for your children!

I think you're reading far more into this than the seller intended.

eBay automated emails often appear to come from the seller when in fact they are initiated by eBay

You have a good seller if they are combining the postage without you asking

Most areas now have Post office counters in shops that are open from early hours in the morning until late at night.

OUrs is in our local one stop shop and when the shop is open so is the PO counter. That is seven days a week.

I posted items on Sunday.

You have managed to come on here to complain about the seller so why could you not just have paid.

It would have taken less time than your post

The seller probably wants to post it today if they can. Possibly they have other items or work weekdays

They should not be harrassing but at least they are working hard to give a good service.

How many times did she message you demanding payment?

You've used terms such as 'demanding', 'rude' and 'pushy' so I'm presuming that you're being snowballed with messages featuring unpleasant language.

Your seller has kindly gone the extra mile to save you some money and has just just asked for payment so that they can get the package out to you, then I wouldn't say that is 'pushy' or 'rude', just being kind. And getting a slap in the face for it. Nice.

It's pretty unlikely that a business seller would use an auction to sell.

As described many Post Offices are open at very odd hours; it's commendable that your seller is keen to despatch. Our Post Office is open 0600 to 2300 seven days a week!

Clearly it's not 1130pm when that happened or [hopefully] you will not be cooking for your children

I write back to agree to cancellation (she's a registered business seller and offers refunds, so she couldn't really disagree to a sale cancelation LOL)
Backfired on her big time!
As a buyer, I'm not just buying things. I'm paying for a good service. It's not like she was selling rare contraband that my life depended on LOL

Dresses were average and not that cheap, for second hand stuff.
And impulse buy followed by forced harassment that I managed to avert.
Phew!

7 emailes came from the seller in 12 hrs.
And only 1 email came from ebay after 24 hrs (after I already decided what to do and agreed with her suggestion).
Her last email stated if I didn't pay immediately she would cancel the sale and relist items.
I agreed LOL

Why should I pay for harassment? These dresses would always remind me of stress. No thnx!

Never had encountered anything like this with other sellers! Won't buy from her ever again!

She should not be threatening but you could have just paid straight away or was it that you had changed your mind anyway.

I don't think it backfired on her I would think she was relieved for you to agree to cancel and put to you on her Blocked bidders list. How much did you pay for a good service?. As a seller I have never had any payment for a good service although I give one every time.

You were getting a good service. A seller who combined postage without being asked and trying to post immediatley.
A little bit too enthusiastic but better that way than slow.

She contacted me 7 times in 12 hrs! One of those times I was cooking for my children who have autism. With kids like that its more than just cooking because they get involved, things get thrown, spilt, you've got to pay attention 100 %!
My phone was pinging with msgs which I didn't check till later obviously
Cooking VERY SPECIFIC THINGS then feeding children with autism is an obstacle course that takes hours.

There's no way I could have dropped everything and pulled out laptop to log in to PayPal etc...
They wouldn't let me do anything. I leave things like that till they are sound asleep. By which time she sent me these 7 emails, last one demanding that unless I paid immediately, she would cancwl the sale and rwlist them and I was **bleep** off at that point and just agreed with her.

Ebay states items sgould be paid within 48 hrs
People work, (yes, I work too, when they are at school), people are busy. If they can pay immediately they do. But sometines, they can't. It is unreasonable and rude to harass them. That implies deliberate intent at wrong doing and that's a terrible way to treat people.
Just like you accused me of lying without knowing anything whatsoever about the situation
