Yes possibly but it vanished pretty much as soon as I spoke with the first advisor to request removal of the feedback I’d received. I think the advisor got confused with what I was asking. Bit annoying when it’s the only ever negative I have left 🤦🏻‍♀️ the second advisor said they would look into reinstating the negative but I cannot see that happening. I just wish future buyers good luck with dealing with this seller 😅

Feedback Help

Hello,

I recently had a rubbish buying experience and left my first negative feedback (very disappointing to not receive my item as seller didn’t complete the sale) last night I see that the seller has left me positive feedback but with not so nice words and none of it true. I asked eBay to remove this and after a while on chat they said it wouldn’t be a problem and that it could be removed and would I like to report the seller etc. Today I see my feedback left for the seller has been removed but the feedback they left for me is still there. Is it worth contacting eBay again? It appears they have got it completely the wrong way round but I’m not happy even though it looks like a positive feedback on my account

Morning @marblez2007 (yup, it's me again...)

I've just had a look the feedback that was left on your account and I'd be inclined to leave it, for a number of reasons:

1. It's left for you as a buyer and a buyer cannot be left anything other than positive feedback.

2. It's written in German. Now be honest - just how many people would not only check a seller's buyer feedback but also translate feedback left in a different language?

3. The feedback which was left actually translates as "Not a good eBay seller. I offered shipping within Europe, not to England. Despite this, the woman bought the item even though shipping would have been more expensive. I explained that it wasn't possible and I couldn't ship it. Now I've received negative feedback, even though I specifically selected shipping within Europe from the start." So not only does the feedback incorrectly refer to you as the seller (even though it's left for you as a buyer) but the actual seller claims that the UK is not in Europe. The UK is in Europe, it's just not in the EU...

Honestly? The feedback does you no harm, it would need translating by most people and it doesn't make the seller look too good when it is translated anyway. I'd leave it.

And I see the item at the heart of all this has been relisted with shipping as DHL International, posts to Europe, excludes Russian Federation. So as it doesn't exclude the UK it would be perfectly ok for you to bid on the relisted item. Yes we all know what the outcome would be, but if the seller wants to sell to the EU only then they need to list the item correctly in the first place...

And they have removed my feedback left for the seller which is not what I asked them to do (I’m assuming that cannot be changed now) and yes, it’s re listed with the exact same shipping option as when I bought it so they have messed up again.

I see your point too @marblez2007 - it must be extremely frustrating, not to say annoying, that the seller acted in such a way and not only refused to complete a perfectly legitimate purchase made in good faith but then played eBay's system and delayed your payment being returned until you had escalated the INR case.

The thing is, though, that the feedback the seller left is, if anything, detrimental to themselves, not you. "Not a good eBay seller" left on your buyer's feedback? The seller has effectively left themselves negative feedback on your account. And the ridiculous excuse of "I offered shipping within Europe, not to England" just shows an appalling lack of geographical knowledge.

Me? I'd do an Elsa. Let it go...

I don't suppose the feedback you left being removed is anything to do with yours not being removed. In my experience sellers can get calm, totally truthful negative feedback removed within hours. I'm always amazed when any I leave actually stays.

I doubt it. As I said, bad sellers have a way of getting negative feedback removed within hours, there's no point leaving it any more in my opinion.

If you hadn't bothered presumably you wouldn't have got your false positive and they've lost their negative but you've still got yours. Ergo, you shouldn't have bothered leaving negative. The feedback system doesn't work, why bother using it?
