topic Re: NOS - 'new old stock' - not really??!! in Buying

I use NOS for items that are vintage sealed in packaging, or vintage open box - never used. It seems a quick way to convey the condition in the title (like VGC or NWT).

Perhaps the main point is sellers not being honest about Condition, full stop. As a Buyer, you see this frequently on eBay. I do like the new used Clothing condition categories as it encourages Sellers to be more accurate by giving a gradient of used to choose from (like media has had for a long time).
