I just read @valueaddedresource’s summary.
Im not a particularly business summary sheet savvy, but it does seem that the general price rise in everything creates a positive end of quarter balance sheet.

Users haven’t increased, Live is continuing to annoy people and business sellers continue to be p’d off!

Neither am I but in the UK weren't there two RM price increases last year plus a period of generally high inflation and didn't ebay increase the Fixed Fee on payment processing at some point.

Is this another set of results that show ebay standing still in the UK re. sales / users with only price and cost inflation + a fee increase making the figures look like growth ?

Depop's 7million-ish customers, bought by eBay (contract signed but the endgame admin's going on), should be let loose on eBay UK approx Sept 2026.

Naturally I can't predict, but possibly there'd be a lot more fashion/secondhand listings, possible price dips due to increased supply, more competition for sellers, more than one bidder in auctions. Basically more of everything - more visiting the discussion boards, more INRs, more mysterious money holds, more people arguing... 🙂

Hi I think you nailed it. There is a big hit from FX, but there's only the US to blame for that. With inflation and increased costs across the board I don't see much growth at all except for advertising. On the other hand, just holding your own is a win in this economic climate so we shouldn't underestimate that and can only hope that nothing translates to price rises.....

@insidethe93 when the acquisition was announced, eBay explicitly said Depop will continue to be run as a separate platform, similar to the way that eBay's other subsidiaries like second-hand fashion marketplace Tise and collectible trading card game marketplace TCGPlayer operate today.

I expect they'll work to integrate the business units internally on the corporate side, possibly bring some eBay features like authentication to Depop and create cross-listing/cross-promoting opportunities between the two, but for the most part Depop's buyers will likely stay on Depop.

Bottom line - once the deal is completed, Depop buyers and $ will be reflected in eBay's financial reports, but that doesn't necessarily mean sellers on the main eBay marketplace sites will see a large influx in buyers or sales here.
