Simple Delivery problem!

I’m wanting to sell some golf clubs, but simple delivery is no good for this, as the quote is far too cheap and they don’t allow the length of a golf club to post out! They have quoted just under £3.00 on Simple Delivery, when I know for a fact it will be in excess of £10 !
Why are eBay making it so difficult to sell nowadays, considering they have Vinted to contend with?

Any ideas please of what to do?

The "oversize" weight bracket (which allows you to choose and buy your own postage) is dependent on category and sub-category. Unfortunately ebay don't publish a list of which categories are eligible so it's a matter of trial and error during the listing process.

So during the listing process after selecting category and entering item title scroll down and click on the box under the heading Package Size. At the very bottom of the pop-up you're looking for:
Oversized
Above 20 kg or 61 x 46 x 46 cm

If it's there select that and you should get:
Domestic postage
Simple Delivery is unavailable for this item

Then click on Add Primary Service to buy your own postage. It has to be done on a laptop or desktop rather than the app. If the option doesn't show up try changing sub-category or category.

The alternative is to list with free postage and factor that cost into your item price. To get the buyer's address and mark dispatched you need to open the original Simple Delivery label (Get prepaid label > Get prepaid label and QR code). The option to change the tracking from Simple Delivery has been removed but you would be able to add the new number to a "not received" case if that were necessary.

Depending on how many you want to sell as one item; the exact club (length) and finding a suitable box; you may be able to send using Simple Delivery:

EVRI parcel shop drop-off

No side exceeds 120cm in length, the volume is no more than 245cm. (To calculate the volume, add together the two shortest sides and multiply it by two, and then add the length)

Up to 15kg

Thanks for your interest and time.Unfortunately a few of the clubs exceed the 120cm length,so these would have to go via Parcelforce etc.So i would still be in the same boat, and would need to choose my own delivery method, and not be dictated to by eBay.

Make sure your local Evri drop-off takes all sizes of parcel - mine has started refusing anything bigger than a 'small parcel' despite it being well within the Evri size limits. All eBay had to say was 'cancel the order', which is not very helpful.
