January 2026 Seller News - Heads Up On FVF Increase!

Looks like they haven't gotten around to posting the announcement here in the community yet, but the January Seller Update is live now and it includes an increase in the fixed per order fee plus FVF increases in some categories.

@thesmokingrunner I also liked the other reply saying that announcements are pre-scheduled....in which case it's an interesting choice to schedule it to post at exactly the same time that the weekly chat session gets closed and locked, perhaps hoping to prevent pesky questions about the fee increase from having to be answered by staff? 🤔

Can I just say that it is both an "adjustment " and an "update" , but nowhere does it say "increase"!

Oh, that is so cynical @valueaddedresource : ) Prevent pesky questions? Surely but...

Then again to see the new rates requires two additional clicks once you've opened the announcement, and even then it's under 'Trust and protection' rather than 'Rate card change' (the actual page address is https://www.ebay.co.uk/sellercentre/news/2026-january/rate-card-change).

But they're absolutely, definitely not trying to bury the news. They just don't want too many people to know about it...

Although it doesn't actually say, I would assume as the variable part of the Final Value Fee is calculated on the total amount paid including postage and taxes that the same would also apply to the fixed part.
