I think ebay.uk will come to regret what was done in 2025, by both SD and the BPF. It has changed ebay too much for too many.

In particular, BPF drawing buyer's attention to fees, whereas before they were always carefully hidden, is already curtailing sales for some sellers.

With SD, teaming up with evri and pushing buyers towards them at the busiest retail event of the year. They don't have their high failure to deliver reputation for nothing. Mangled, soaked, lost or stolen Christmas presents will stick in the minds of buyers for longer than anything else during the year. Even if some of their overworked drivers do an excellent job in some areas.

It's always far more difficult to get lost customers back once they've become unhappy and started looking elsewhere for an alternative (especially with amazon just waiting with open arms). From what I've read on here, they can't but help notice that competitors are charging less for their version of BP and are more transparent or have more options about who delivers purchases.

If Christmas turns out to be a poor experience for buyers and sellers, ebay's losses so far will only be the start of what could become a turning point for ebay in the UK.
