Account suspended permanently

Hi,

I am a new user and I registered as a seller on eBay, however a few days the account was suspended permanently and I can no longer open any accounts associated with me.

This is quite frustrating as eBay refuses to provide any helpful information as to why this happened. Any tips and advice. I was looking forward to start as a seller on eBay. Thank you in advance.

I was asking because you are not allowed to sell at 15, thats all. No need for the insults.

Hello cleverchik2010, it's quite common for people to have usernames which incorporate their year of birth. The previous poster was simply trying to establish if that was the case with your username, as it would have provided a reason for ebay to ban you, ie under 18. Nothing ageist about it, simply factfinding.

If we're going to help you we need more information about what happened. Is this account that caused the problem or was there another. It's just you say you're a new user and this account was created in 2010. If this is the account in question did you have any problem when registering as a seller, some times it can be tricky.

You say that you are a new user but this account says that you have been a member since 2010. You also say " I can no longer open any accounts associated with me" which suggests that you have multiple eBay accounts. You might need to elaborate what's going on here if you want help and / or advice.

Yea this is correct. My buyers account was created in 2015 however I opened up a sellers account a few weeks ago and it got banned permanently and I am no longer allowed to open a sellers account on eBay.

This cleverchik2015 was created a while ago to buy things however I opened up a new account as a seller and that’s the account which was blocked. I called eBay and they have informed me that any future accounts I may create to sell will be suspended.

Sorry for the lack of information. So I have this clever chik account for a while. However I created a sellers account recently and I only listed one item and the next day I received an email saying this:

We wanted to let you know that your eBay account has been permanently suspended because of activity that we believe was putting the eBay community at risk. We understand that this must be frustrating, but this decision was not made lightly and it’s important that we keep our marketplace safe for everyone. For more information, see our article on how and why accounts can be suspended or review our User Agreement.

Hi,

I don’t have multiple accounts. I only have this cleverchik account which is a personal account used only for purchases for myself and I created a sellers account which was banned

Suspending new selling accounts is a frequent complaint on these boards. Usually the reason is something wishy washy such as 'posing a threat to the community'.

Ebay won't change their mind and won't discuss it with you, so you just have to live with it.

Right.. so am guessing noting can be done? Even if I was to convert my normal buyers account into a sellers they will suspend that too?

As I understand it, there is no such thing as a selling account and a buying account. Any account should be usable as both. (Some users do have two accounts, using one for buying and one for selling, but that's just for convenience.)

Again, as I understand it, the only thing you need to do to make a "buying" account into a "selling" account is to add bank details so that Ebay can pay you, and National Insurance number so that Ebay can comply with the law and report sales to HMRC.

Open to correction.
