'how do you sort this out? is there a way to get a simple delivery refund for dodgy courier not doing their jobs and then rebooking with a competent courier outside of simple delivery?'

If you offered freepost (seller pays postage) but decide not to use the Simple Delivery label, you can apply for a refund within 14 days. You have to fill in a form, and make sure you have added the new tracking number.

If the buyer paid for the postage, they will automatically receive a refund, so you would end up paying for 2 lots of postage, if you don't use the SD label.
