Is Simple Delivery mandatory now ? used to be able to select custom postage option but it’s not available now. Just tried listing and Simple Delivery is the only option for postage

It's still there to opt out just takes a little bit of finding !

Simple Delivery is not compulsory..... yet, so you can opt out if you wish. I believe you'll need a laptop / PC and use Chrome for this, not the app or mobile browser.

When creating a new listing here's how to opt out:

Click on Custom Postage option, this is next to the simple delivery option on the listing on the right hand side, and it should allow you to then select your postage options.

Others have found this works ..... Click on Collection then straight away back to and click on Postage Only, and the Custom option shows, you are then able to select the postage service and cost you wish to use.

Another wonderful example of how not to do things by E Bay ,No doubt it will be compulsory to use Nevri the absolute worse Delivery company on this planet ,if you want your parcel lashed into a random garden somewhere near your house these are the guys .And why is it not available on the App to opt out ? what possible reason would that be omitted ? Useless dying company I genuinely hope they sink alongside all the mentors .

'Collection Only' - option not available!

'Simple Delivery' - the only option available/no opt out! - result? - I haven't listed the item 😡

I know it's their platform and all but sometimes I get fed up of ebay's fiddling, tinkering and generally make it a pita to keep up with how to use ebay.

Why on earth have I been able to make listings with my own delivery service all morning but now coming to list another item the only option I have is "Simple Delivery" - Prepaid RM or Evri label provided. We know full well it's going to be the awful shambolic Evri provided if I proceed which I REFUSE to use. Sorry but if I wanted my parcel nicked, damaged or lost then I can boot it down the street myself.

Discussions on here say to the right of simple delivery there should be an option for custom delivery - well there isn't. Believe it or not the only solution is JAWDROPPING.

as above - Switch to collection only and IMMEDIATELY switch back to Postage only and there it is - custom postage.

For the record, I list using a PC and Mozilla Firefox. No mobile app rubbish here.

Same problem in Chrome believe it or not - I did wonder if it was a case where eBay's web developers only tested in Chrome but apparently not.

Very frustrating when all I want to do is quickly downsize to move houses but with your fix I'm back up and running!

I second that question. I've not seen a date mentioned anywhere before your post but from what I'm seeing today I wouldn't be surprised if it is today, tomorrow or within a few days.

Whatever the date is that sd becomes mandatory I hope ebay will at least announce the date in advance, especially if they are going to hi-jack our listings again, converting the postage options to sd.
