@the_laser_architect wrote:

It's the same for me. i only sell occasional things but this new "wait for your money" policy has just made me pull my lisitings. 20 years been using Ebay to buy and sell and have put up with many of the hair brained ideas they have put in place but this is the final straw. Item sold monday, posted tuesday, won't be delivered until next tuesday according to RM website which mean it will likely be next friday before i see my cash. sorry but that is unacceptable for me now. I have an ebid account that i haven't used for years, i might as well try again, it can't be worse than Ebay is! Also the level of stupidity with some buyers on here is incredulous. I got a question from someone about one of my items. If he had read the listing, he wouldn't have needed to ask me but i replied to him. The item sold later that afternoon to someone else. next day i get another question from them...i'm like what is this guy on? but just before i could reply to tell him it had sold, he sent another message asking why i hadn't replied and demanding that i reply to him? Another buyer asked if i would consider accepting half my buy now price and i still pay the postage? seriously? I despair as some of the whackjobs on here, i really do...

Such a familiar story to most of us, I reckon. Fortunately ebay has a "block whackjob" list you can add them to (aka block bidders list).

Think yourself lucky. I'm always happy when these nuts self-identify before attempting to buy. It's the ones who've already bought, those are the ones to worry about. E.g. the ones who tell you "Please pack this item carefully, it's very fragile", as if my stellar feedback with people congratulating me on the quality of my packaging doesn't exist.

Good luck with your selling. I'm just restarting over there as well. Currently only as an insurance policy, but if mandatory Simple Delivery turns out to be the disaster I suspect, I'll have to quit here completely.
