so a buyer sends me a lovely screen shot stating Evri "messaged them" to confirm the item has been damaged. the buyer has spoken to eBay and i need to refund them straight away.

amazing considering i only posted the item a few hours before said message. even more amazing that the tracking number on the screen shot does not match the tracking number for the order.

low and behold the actual tracking shows the item has only just been received by Evri. i'm fairly sure Evri don't reach out if an item is damaged either, you have to manually check tracking.

show the buyer the screenshot of the actual tracking. "oh, don't worry about it, my bad" was the response. i fairly sure this buyer was just hoping my brain was switched off and i would default in to refund mode.

eBay help - please report the buyer using our really useful "report the buyer" options. none of the options cover scamming messages.

go to eBay help - 10-15 minutes of the bot sending me in circles before letting me talk to a human. 20-30 minutes of talking to said human who "so the item arrived damaged?" - NO!!!! when they finally read the messages, oh your buyer seems to be suspicious, possibly a scammer. just sit tight, nothing we can really do about that.

frustrated - i probably should have not gone down that wormhole for what is essentially a £10 transaction.

lesson learned.
