How do I check my parcel size is within the Evri maximum

Evri postage for £2.94 say “Max. length 120cm, Max. overall size 245cm” How do we calculate max size? Is it height times width times length? Thank you for any clear answer!

You add them together, not multiply.

Measure the longest size and double it. Add the width and depth. Total needs to be under 245cm.

Basically, no single length can be more than 120cm and when you add all three it must be no more than 245cm so, for example, something 120cm / 100cm / 25cm would be fine and so would something 120cm / 90cm / 35cm or 100cm / 100cm / 45cm but NOT 100cm / 100cm / 50cm or 90cm / 90cm / 90cm.
You just measure your three sides, check none is over 120cm, add the three together, check the total is not not over 245cm and you're good to go.

Hi,

Can you please explain if my below understanding is correct?

If Length was 138cm
Width measused was 15cm
Height measured was 25cm

15+25=40x2=80
80+138=218 which is still below 245cm?

Evri has charged me extra because I exceed the length by 18cm

Your understanding is not correct.

First off, ignore all that about adding the two shortest sides and multiplying by two - that is incorrect. You simply need to add the three dimensions together, but the item's length must not exceed 120cm and the total of all three (length PLUS width PLUS height) must not exceed 245cm.

So although the three dimensions you give (L 138cm W 15cm H 25cm) add up to 178cm and are comfortably within the total permitted of 245cm, Evri is correct in charging you extra because you exceeded the maximum length (120cm) by 18cm.

I've just had an excess size limit charge from Evri.
245cm is calculated:
Add together the 2 shortest sides and multiply it by 2, then add the length.
This is how Evri calculate size.
The people saying is is add the 3 dimensions are incorrect.

This is why I stick with Royal Mail, simple to measure box size, print label and post. Not all this *bleep* of measuring the 2 shortest sides, multiplying by 2, then adding the length. I will never use Evri with all this *bleep*.

Unfortunately you do have to double the two shortest sides and add the longest.

Yes, as stated in that guide under 'Sending large items' it is the combined length and circumference that needs to be calculated. If you only add the two shortest sides (height and width) once then that is only half the circumference.

Max length of 1 side should not exceed 120cm

Total combined length after you have completed the calculation should not exceed 245cm

Max weight is 15kgs

This applies to the wrapped item that you will post, not the unwrapped item.

So....

Example

30cm x 40 x 80

Add the two shortest sides

30cm + 40cm = 70cm x 2 = 140cm

then add longest side = 80 cm

140 + 80 = 220cm

Is it less than 245cm and less than 15kgs then good to go.
